Go See Religulous

This is going to be a short entry, because I really don't think I could improve on the material I'm discussing. That material is Bill Maher's new movie Religulous. To say that I'm sympathetic to the movie's message would be a gross understatement. If you don't happen to be a spiritual person, I recommend the movie merely on the basis of its entertainment value. If you are spiritual, I would challenge you to see the movie, and then ask yourself the question, "why again do I believe what I believe?".

Can you come up with anything better than, "I was taught to believe what I believe when I was really young", or "I don't see an alternative explanation that I like any better"?

The most important message, in my opinion, is the one that spirituality isn't just about a personal choice that allows a person to feel good about themselves, or the world. There are consequences to indulging in fantasy, and they should be weighed heavily against your own personal warm-and-fuzzy feelings.
