I Told You So
Sometimes, I hate to be right, and this is one of those times. During the election, I said that Obama's support was based on false pretenses. Liberals believed that because he reminded us that he was originally against the war in Iraq, that he wanted to end the war. Nope.

Unlike Hillary Clinton, Obama made a firm and explicit promise about when he'd have troops out by. That was supposedly 16 months from inauguration. One month into his presidency, and the timetable has already stretched to 19 months. Eighteen months from now, how much longer will it be?
And after 19 months, we'll still have a residual presence of 35,000 to 50,000 troops. Hmmm. These "non-combat" troops will also be carrying guns, and responsible for counter-insurgency missions. Hmmm. That sounds like The War, or The Occupation, or whatever you want to call it, won't be ending after all.
And, oh by the way, he's already committed 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan. That only took him three weeks.
Just like I said.
