Kudos to Christopher Hitchens

Anderson Cooper hosted an interview with Christopher Hitchens, the British/American intellectual generally considered one of the leading voices of atheism. Hitchens, recently diagnosed with cancer, talked objectively about his disease, and the non-effect it is having on his atheist fundamentals.

Aside from the belief in the non-existence of any god, personal or otherwise, there isn't normally a lot that Hitchens and I agree on. His continued endorsement of imperialist boondoggle wars, his apathy about the environment, his personal choices to smoke like a chimney, drink to excess, and generally be out of shape, are not ideas I'd endorse. But, I respect that even when confronted with one of the saddest of all diseases, he isn't using the selfish excuse of emotional comfort to change his views on religion.

Bravo, Christopher.
