What's Wrong with Religion?

I get so frequently confronted with the attitude "Yes, but what's actually wrong with Religion? Who is it hurting?", that I have to point out examples like this, or this.

C'mon, people. This is 2009. The first black, female Rabbi? On a planet with 14 million (roughly) Jews, right now?

Please don't tell me that religion isn't misused to propagate the racist and sexist tendencies that humans already have, without religion.
